Kybella Injections vs Coolsculpting: Finding the Right Treatment For You

Kybella injections

If you’re bothered by the looks of a double chin, Kybella treatments are perfect for you. Kybella is a non-surgical way to target the fat beneath your chin with injections. The treatment is fast and easy. OMNI SCULPT MD Med Spa offers Kybella injections in Dallas, TX. We can set up a consultation to determine if you’re the perfect candidate for Kybella treatment.

What is Kybella?

Kybella involves deoxycholic acid injections to target what most people call a double chin. The fat pocket under the chin is also known as submental fat. Through a series of injections, we can dissolve the fat cells. Our patients use it as an alternative to liposuction to destroy these fat cells with a synthetic version of the salt that is found in human bile. When deoxycholic acid hits the digestive tract, it breaks down your fat by eliminating the cell membrane. We inject this into your chin to do the same thing in a targeted location. The cellular debris is cleared into the circulatory system and lymphatic system.

Kybella Preparation

We meet with you to ensure you’re the best candidate for a Kybella treatment. It’s essential you don’t have any bleeding problems, swallowing issues, or are pregnant or nursing. You need to be over 18 with moderate to severe fat underneath your chin. Kybella is a non-surgical procedure, so you don’t need to do any significant preparation. You can do Kybella on your lunch break. We will talk with you about further instructions.

How Does Kybella Work?

Once we inject the syntenic form of deoxycholic acid, it begins to destroy your fat cells. We mark the injection sites and carefully administer them. The amount of injection sites will depend on the severity of your chin fat. The injections gradually kill the fat cells, and the body metabolizes them over a period of time. The amount of treatments needed for optimal results may vary from patient to patient. You can have up to six Kybella treatments. You need at least one month between treatments.

Kybella Side Effects

The most common side effect of Kybella treatments is swelling. The swelling can last from as little as two days to as long as three weeks. The swelling means the treatment is working to dissolve your fat. You may experience a bit of pain, numbness, redness, and/or bruising. Most people’s side effects are tolerable.

Kybella Expectations

We will design a customized Kybella treatment plan to meet your needs. Most of our patients need multiple Kybella treatments to reach their goals. Most patients see visible results after two Kybella treatments. One of the best things about Kybella treatments is that they kill fat cells forever. Once your fat cells dissolve, they are gone.

CoolSculpting vs. Kybella

CoolSculpting is another FAD-approved treatment to freeze fat. CoolSculpting targets fat cells with controlled cooling, causing the fat cells to freeze and dissolve. It can be used in other areas instead of just the chin. Kybella provides faster results, while CoolSculpting helps lessen the discomfort levels. CoolSculpting does not involve any injections. It can treat lateral areas and larger neck areas. Kybella is only used under the chin for small areas of fat.
